Needing a Turnaround
I gotta tell you, it’s been a pretty crappy few days.
It started when one of my two main clients told me that he was going to cut what he pays per segment by 15%. Previously I thought he was paying a little too much. Now he’s paying too little.
That was the same day that Bob called me a suggested we go out for a drink, then backed out a few hours later because of a work emergency. Not his fault, but still kinda disappointing.
Then the next day, I learned I didn’t get the job with NAHB. This is the third time I’ve been turned down by them, and the second where I was told after my interview that I was the leading candidate. It’s pretty f***ed up. So I immediately e-mailed my contact at Bunim-Murray to see if they still planned on hiring editors before the end of the year. Of course, since Sept. 11th things have not been very good in the reality television arena, so I dread the response.
Finally, tomorrow is my 40th birthday. I have nothing special planned, ’cause I was hoping to make a date with Bob. But he’s going to see a play, so I’m on my own.
This weekend had better turn around pretty quick, or I’m going to be bummed.
